Open ASD File

ASD files have two different applications namely:

Microsoft Word

An ASD file is an automatically saved backup file for a Microsoft Word document in its versions 2002 or 2003.

ASD file is generally used to recover Word file that is corrupted or lost due to system crashes or software problems.

Step 1

Open Microsoft Word. Click the 'File' menu and click 'Open'.

Step 2

Go to the username folder. You can find it in the drop-down menu at the top of the window.

Double click on the 'AppData' sub-folder that is inside the user folder. Double-click in the 'Roaming' folder and select the 'Windows' folder.

Open the 'Word' folder.

Step 4

Click the drop-down menu at the bottom of the window labeled 'File Type' and click 'All Files'.

Double-click the ASD file to open it.

Step 5

Click the 'File' menu and click 'Save As'.

Under 'Save As', select the DOC file format. Select a location for the converted file, enter a name, and click 'Save'.

Ableton Live

In this application, the ASD file is a file created by Ableton Live, an audio production application.

The ASD file, in this case, is created when a new sample is recorded or when a sample is imported for the first time, which contains metadata about the audio sample

For general information, Ableton Live creates ASD files in the same directory as the recorded or imported sound clip.

Tap on "Downloads" folder inside the app.
You should see your downloaded ASD file in that folder.
Tap on the file. If Android device supports opening the file you downloaded it will open in the corresponding app.
If file does not open you can look for the corresponding app that can open the file by searching Android App Store for the "ASD".

To open ASD File on iOS device follow steps below:
